Turkey biobanking participating in BBMRI.tr can be divided into two major areas:
1. population biobanks
2. disease-oriented biobanks
The type of collected samples include:
1. Tissues
2. Blood and blood related products
3. Body fluids
4. Cell lines
5. Nucleic acids
Among the disease-oriented biobanks, most of them are cancer. Some of the biobanking have the samples from rare diseases.
The population biobanks contain samples from subsets of a population and cohorts.
